Winter Beauty

Palm

I am looking for the name of this palm, I've had for several years was looking a little sad so I decided to split into two plants and repot.  Needs a winter perkup(01-06-12).  When I pulled out of pot in the soil there was a white mildew looking substance.  Also looked maybe the soil had sand in it.  I need to borrow my nephews microscope and check it out.  Anxious to see if another palm will grow off either plant.

The great thing in this world is not so much where we are, but in what direction we are moving.
